Yesterday morning Christa and I headed up for the Verde to do some hounding, have a picnic and get away from the city for a bit. We left early and caught the first rays of the day just before we got there
Last weekend we saw record rainfall over the state. The river flooded and receded over this past week exposing some new material. I was chomping at the bit to see what was left in it's wake. Christa was happy to take some pictures and finish a book she had been reading while I filled up the backpack and rock bag. A chilly 33 degrees when we got there, warming up to a nice 65 by the afternoon. Here's some pics she took
Snow up higher
River is still quite high, but by the debris you can see how high it was just a few days prior

This morning we woke up to overcast, not the best conditions for a tailgate picture party.. but here's the haul
The first time I hounded this area I found a fulgurite on the side of a hill. I think I gave that to BAZ the first time we met. I happened to check that same area yesterday to see if there were others and lo and behold I found two more
