Ok this is probably a dumb question but how do you get the top of the heart cabbed without ruining it. I haven't tried it yet but have someone that wants two. Help please

Yep. The heart question is a complicated answer.
Its difficult to rough out & form the cleave if your just using the saw & hard wheels in example-- Galaxy wheels
The saw works great for hogging out material. But you need to hold the heart at an acute angle to get a good roughed out V shape
I suppose a dremel would be an effective tool for the roughing /forming process after the saw but labor intensive for a cabbed heart
A S/C wheel is the way to go For fast efficient roughing and forming of the cleave. Using the corner of the wheel. One can get a deep even grind.
The edge of sanding belts is really great for final finishing and the edge of Nova wheel work really good also
Nothing simple about a heart. Even in 2 parts ;D
have fun

Tammy use a softer stone like calcite onyx or such for a first attempt
O and I don't mean to make it sound harder than it is hearts are like any other cab with terminal V curves
let us know how it goes

You can do it Tammy. Try a softer stone like Ed has suggested to get the feel how the shaping goes and then, progress to your harder stone choices. Pics please ! ;D

There are V wheels for hearts--thinking of buying one myself for rough grinding--then finishing in the ultravibe tumbler with a load.
