As the planet in the Northeast closed today for a much welcome Friday off AND we have maybe 2" of snow so far since this morning.... I decided to do some cabbing today. These are the major pieces. This first one has a cherty spot on it that I'm just going to leave...maybe drill it or something as I really like the stone... From the same slab, different area... Second heart... I'm having problems with the cleavage in the middle... Third heart with same problem... These are all from a couple of "unknown jasper" slabs from Randy. Big fun to work and, while not quite picture stones, I really love the color, texture and design in them! :-) So that's it. I hope all are doing as well with the blizzard as we are!!!! Cathy

Well it's 27 here and certainly not what I would call a major blizzard...or minor... or even a blip... It's more like Lake Effect snow than anything, and we've had much more accumulation from that than we are getting from Nemo! LOL! Oh well.... Shoveling should not be an issue.
Cathy :-)

Here in NJ we're looking at 12-18" in Morris county.

Total accumulation here looks like maybe 3" this morning. For us, this was definitely not worth the hype. I think the whole thing just kind of missed us for a change.

Those are finely shaped & shined, Cathy The slight dimpled cleave is really unique I like it -like it a lot and that white quartz ring as heartshape thing going on

Lol! Hi Ed, I thought of you when that heart ring emerged! Wasn't quite there when I started but rather just kind of jumped out of the stone while I was working it. Really cool conversational process I had while working it...mostly. :-)

Those are all nice. Don't we women all have trouble with cleavage? LOL

I always tell the gals to put little cleavage in that rock'n heart. O.K. So I'm a little a shallow :cheesy: mostly

Nice cabs! Glad the storm mostly missed you. My husband and son just got back a 4 this morning from Kingston Ma. No power there still, and around 2 feet of snow. Roads were plowed well but when they hit Connecticut, the highways were really bad. Plowed poorly and most off ramps not plowed at all. Once they got passed there, it was much better! Fran

Nice work, Cathy. It looks like they gave you hell and you gave it right back. My cousin near Portland, Me got 30" . She's on a southern island, so it is a little unusual to get so much. Sent some great pictures.
