Finally got to go to Tucson, and for 2 weeks at that!
Thought I'd use the opportunity to meet my favorite vendors in person. This board taught me early on that I could depend on John (jsgems) and David (jadecarver) for supplies and they have never let me down!
I bought my diamond wheels from David to replace SC wheels on my rebuilt cabber. Today my husband was looking for some diamond bits to clean up mineral specimens, and we found ourselves at David's booth. It took me a while to realize that Gems and Jade was the same as jadecarver! I'm going to try a new 600 topper on my faceters and see how it works. We haven't yet caught up with John yet but hope to see him next week. I've bought a wide assortment of things from John and find he will tell you when someone else has a better deal going on. He also scouts out the shows for new ideas and tools to help us all.
Thanks again to them and those on the boards that help all the newbies out.

So. I caught up with John and met his wife as well. It's always fun to meet spouses who put up with our addictions! Or even better to find ones who like the same things we do. He has lots of neat stuff to show at the Barranca/MK tent! More toys coming for the hobby!
Once we get home I'll steal the camera from my hubby and upload some shots of the amazing finds at Tucson. I haven't been here in 13 years and it has grown significantly. Some thing are priced ridiculously high (many of the named Jasper's and agates) and other things very low (I bought a chunk of Polish flint for $6/lb!).

Yeah, tomorrow is our last full day here and I'm thinking about going back out for more flint! Not that I need it, but how can you pass up that good of a deal?! I'll try to pull together a trip report, but I really just want to go home and cut rocks! Maybe I should've taken another week off to recover. Sue

I've met David at another show. Great guy and he will give you internet pricing on wheels if you mention it. My wife struck up a lengthy conversation with his wife about beads as well. ;D Steve
