Hi everyone,
We may have a new member soon. One of the guys I work with has seen my jar of polished rocks on my desk. He mentioned a rock called Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper, which is where he lives Morgan Hill, CA. I told him the local lapidary shops carries it. So, if he buys some that I would polish the rocks him.
This hobby can be addictive! Not sure if I should take the credit or blame for getting someone else addicted.

take the credit and infect as many as you can, kids are especially easy just give one polished rock away per kid, a good decent hobby may keep some kid out of trouble.

I don't mean this the wrong way, but isn;t that what drug pushers do, give em the first rock and then they are addicted? Only this is the right kind of rock and the right kind of addition, maybe help keep em away from the "bad guys". Good for you! cookie

Ok, I'll take the credit rather than the blame.
My two little ones are already hooked. They will even take them before polished!
My son likes the "crystals"- amethyst, clear quartz, etc

My 7 year old step daughter likes to go "gem grubbin" at the mines where they sell you a bucket of rocks and you go through them with a sieve and a trogh of water. She prefers the big shiney qauatz, but she has learned that something my look like a plain old rock may be a saphire or emerald. She'll hold it in her hand and say" This fells kinda heavy, it may be a gemstone". Have to give her credit, she found an emerald that I didn't recognise. cookie
