You could cut the 2 1/2 down to 2 get a slab or so and still be set for the largest you could have made anyway. That is one awesome looking chunk.

I'm glad to see a cube. They are easier to handle when finished and won't roll off a stand. I also think the pattern is easier to see. Hope to see more cubes.

Is this part of THAT huge stone canyon boulder I was lucky to see in person?
Beautiful cube.

Yes Adrian. I have some slabs in the bucket. They look nice. I will try to photograph soon. Pat: the cube is not the final form. It is intended as a sphere blank. IMO, getting the perfect 90-deg angles on a cube or rectangle is very hard.

yeah, take a slab off the 2.5" lengths. The sphere is maxed out at 2" anyway. May as well have the additonal slabs.
I'd leave the end with the clear part untouched so that will be part of the sphere.

A while back I made a comment on some thread about how much I like Stone Cyn jasper and how much I would like to make a sphere of some someday. Very unexpectedly I received a PM from Daniel offering me a cube to make a sphere. How could I turn this generous offer down. ;D The polish is better then it looks, it's a cloudy day and a cell phone cam. Thank you so much for your generosity Daniel. Tim
