So there hasn't been any word from Kris of H2MM fame for awhile and I was finally able to track him down.... here is the reply I got from him about his status....
Hey Mario! Thanks for all the great Facebook action! I'm STILL suffering with successive generations of the Flu, each nastier than the last. This one hit only the males who come through our house, with 4 out of 5 down in bed. The 2 little guys are having a tougher time than me; we're bedridden, and persistent fevers are making us all miserable. I'm waiting for some new immune boosting supplements to arrive, since I can't tolerate the steroids (!) the doctors are prescribing for this virus.
That said, I'm feeling thankful for the great friends that rockhounding has given me, and the folks who call to ask me questions. In the past week, I've spoken to folks from 5 different states, and have helped make several professional connections between brokers wanting products, and miners who have them to sell.
Progress has been made on my flat lap build, with all of the parts waiting for me to get healthy again. It's going to be a high speed (0-20,000rpm) .5 horsepower machine, with a footprint just over a square foot. I should be able to sell it for around $400 with full diamond tools. Just have to get well enough to make it! };D
A wonderful surprise arrived in the mail today; a beautiful stone handled Davis Creek obsidian knapped blade, from our patron/friend Michael Hausberg, in Germany. I'll post photos as soon as I'm able.
Please pass my regards to the RTH gang, and let them know I'm alive. I'd love to post, but my arthritis, combined with my neuropathy, makes even a short message painful. Fatigue is Abigail factor, and I'm saving my strength to keep up with my own websites.
On the sales front, I can take orders, but can't promise that they'll be filled with any speed. I'll look at the Facebook comments you made, and see if I have some of those at home. I'll get back to you soon!
Hope you, the sweetheart and kiddos are well, and staying that way. Keep slabbing, sir!
Best regards,
Kris
PS: We have 600 pounds of 5 to 20 pound DC boulders, new stock, many suitable for sphering. I'll post photos as soon as Im well enough to root around the Barn. Keep sending those good thoughts!
So I know some of you have issues with the guy and H2MM, but no one should have to endure this.. I was out for 2 weeks with a virus that kicked the crap out of me and he is 10 times worse, not to mention it is affecting his kids & grand kids too... please keep him in your prayers and if you have time, drop him a line and let him know you wish him well.... he is a part of the RTH family, and we should always watch for our own!!!
Thank You
Mario
