I picked up a couple Crowley Ridge agates and I am trying to decide if I want to try and polish them or not. They are pretty great as they are. Has anyone worked with these in vibes or tumblers? Would love any advice on them.. ![](http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u657/vibratumble/Crowley%20Ridge%20Agates/IMG_0773_zps04be4513.jpg) ![](http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u657/vibratumble/Crowley%20Ridge%20Agates/IMG_0812_zps75619011.jpg) ![](http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u657/vibratumble/Crowley%20Ridge%20Agates/IMG_0813_zps9a4a142a.jpg) ![](http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u657/vibratumble/Crowley%20Ridge%20Agates/IMG_0774_zps8272b636.jpg) Thank you! Oh--I see the dilemma. I agree with Daniel, polish the bands. I have, though, vibe tumbled some material with druzy, and lost some, but not all, of the crystals. I believe I started with 500 grit and it actually worked better than I expected.
They sure are nice.

A lot of people just rub mineral oil on the agate specimens for display that way they don't reduce the value by grinding or polishing them and it still brings out the colors and details.

I have polished a bunch of these agates...I collect them here in Louisiana and Mississippi..(Technicaly not Crowley Ridge)....I have done them in the vibe....2 days in 220 depeng how crusty they are ...2 in 500 4-5 in polish...You need to use a good bit of filler To keep them from cracking and chipping...I will see if I can dig up some pics and post them for you.......John
