I'm going to use New Orleans as an example because I'm familiar with NO and yes Rich it happens everywhere. In NO there are families that have lived on welfare for generations. That's all they know. There has never been anyone to teach them they can make a living any other way. I'm sure there people all over the U.S. that are like this. It ticks me off that the tax payer has to care for these people when they would be able to fend for themselves.
I've seen people up on their own roofs replacing or repairing the roof that are on disability. Any time there is a program like this, there will be millions that take advantage of it. The government cannot arrest millions.
There needs to be VERY strict regulations that are STRICTLY enforced to benefit from programs like this. Instead of encouraging people to live off the government like this Admin does, we need to educate and discourage them from it.

THAT's a big if! Why would they go after people that have no money, knowing that SHOULD they be caught, they have no money to pay all those things you mention? We'd be doing them a favor by putting them in jail, where they can get free cable, free healthcare, and three squares a day.
What world do you live on? Some of the biggest tax cheats are politicians in office as we speak! Jean

Jean, if they have NO money... that defines someone who needs welfare no? Honestly, if someone has no skills, never worked, don't know how... what's the solution? Kill their kids off through starvation?
I DO agree with both you and Woody here. People ABLE to work with jobs available SHOULD be working and not living on the dole.
I think today, there's fewer and fewer people willing to tolerate it, and it's much harder to get on the dole than it used to be, judging by the sheer number of families with children living in boxes in our parks.
If families with babies and toddlers were living in boxes in parks in Florida (NO state aid at all here), the FED isn't who's giving those welfare people money... it's your state. Although I have to admit that I haven't seen anyone living in the parks for the last year or so here.

Bill, welcome back. You may want to read the whole thread, since vet prices was what started it, and vet increases was beaten to death (several times).
