Copper,brass and bronze 'cabachons'

steampunk awesomeness.....

Those impressions are made by wrapping about a 10 gauge copper wire around the copper/brass or german silver and hammering until the wire has flattened into the plate.Other types of wire can be used for other effects-solder,twisted wire,aluminum wire,flat(transformer)wire.



Thanks for looking-look at the piece 2 up from the right corner.See where it says 'Ritz Carlton'-that is german silver from the nazis regime-a hotel serving tray made by 'Gebrudder Hep' called 'hotel silber'.I purchase antique silver plated serving trays at the recycler and shear them into jewelry size pieces.Then mass tumble them to remove burrs and peen the surface,remove the plating,create a surface w/certain character,etc.These old plates have super high quality base metals in them.Here are some rims w/pewter design

Thanks Scott.I saw a pale green frog.Must be albino.I fed it to Doris the bass.She looked good,first time i've seen her this winter.

Yep,they look bleached when they are cold.

We call the 10 pounder Doris.They tell me she is a female because of her size???There is 4-5 other bass in the 3-5 pound category in there.Certainly one of them is a male.All of those bass i caught and moved from the other lily growing ponds except Doris came from my neighbors lake.I put them in that pond because it is deeper and bigger and full of 3 inch bream(bad imbalance)that need to be eaten.
She will not get close to people unless it is me or wife.And you can tell she is all excited when she sees us-food on mind of course.
