Hey Gang,
I have been meaning to take pics of my latest and very happy polishes but got slammed with work and a couple fundraisers. So I decided to finally put together a the light box and have a go with the camera. I always forget to put a coin in my pics for size reference.
This is my 2nd batch of rotary tumble Sodalite and this time with Amanzonite added. Originally I was going to post in depth a tumble journal including weight and loss of weight between stages. While I was in the pre polish stage I noticed I couldn't find a wing nut from a Scott Murray barrel. Well I found it and sadly it had fallen somehow in my Soda/Amaz batch. I was pissed to have to repeat it but even more that it fell in this batch an not agates. This stuff loses tons of mass I have to admit I'm not satisfied with this polish as I was the first time I polished Sodalite. It is still very cool material to tumble imo. The size of these stones are mostly larger then dice. I used a lot of filler so I could keep as much material as possible in the end.

Sodalite is the very 1st polish and I am in love with it.
Ok. So this next batch is a mixed batch. For Christmas I bought myself a Lot O Vibe. I was hoping my first vibe polish would be obsidian, using Krystee TNTmom's recipe. The 60/90 rotary stage for my OB was taking for ever and I then I had to shut all the tumblers down for a out of town trip. When I got back I couldn't wait any longer to try the Lot O out so I culled through all my mixed jasper, agate random tumble mess I had in 60/90 and pulled out the best I could find to move on to 220 Lot O. I have to say I AM STOKED with how it turned out. I was feeling really bummed lately with my learning curve. I followed Randy Bikerrandy's vibe tumble post to a T forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=tottumb&action=display&thread=29369
And it turned out great!
Not sure what these are so I did a single pic of them. I believe I got them from Mary Ann StonesThatRock

This is Chapinite I got from Dan (Fish)

This stuff I don't recognize either and didn't polish well but was still cook looking to me. It came from slab cuts I picked up from Mary Ann (Stones That Rock)

Some unknown agate I picked up at Gerry's Rock and Gem in Kent, WA.

Blue Jasper from Gerry's Rock and Gem.

I don't know what these are either but I believe they came from Marry Ann Stones that rock.

And here are the rest of the material that came out of the same batch. Blood Stone, Carnelian and some Black rocks. Man I am bad at names still lol.

This is the smaller filler stuff I used from Mary Anns material

I have to know what this material is. It looks like red jasper with hematite dots and streaks in it. If anyone know what it is I would love to find more to work with. These are just tiny slivers. They may have come from Mary Anns (Stones That Rock) Batch.

And my only piece of Hematite that accidentally came out but I can finally say I have polished my first Hematite. Here is my post on that punishment
