Yeah, I was expecting a Darwin Award, too.
They don't always do it that way. Sometimes you can just light a match inside them and they blow up. Usually results in a couple of deaths a year.

How should it have been done ? The right way is to have pros do it. The better way is to take it down from the top dropping the blocks inside. Also they could have taken a cable and pulled it down after they weakened it. That tard is lucky he is still alive, his friend also. Silos and smokestacks do not always walk in the direction you think they will. If it had walked towards the camera, they both would have been buried.
