They have large amounts of calcite crystal and some small mounds of iron rich stone kind of like a very old clay type stone.Some have veins of small yellow calcite crystals.. Just wonder how these formations come about and why only in small patches far spread a part. I think one I went to as a kid had a sulfurous smell.
