Lapis Lazuli countertop anybody??? Tiger Iron maybe?? Or perhaps a giant geode...... Just kidding it's travertine. Or another travertine?? That's just one vendor. Unfortunately, they are not local to me. But the right customer may pay freight to have the right slabs.

There is a huge mountain of the stuff in Afghanistan that is being mined for various uses. For instance they use it ground up as pigment in various paints. I have seen prices from Afghan vendors at $12 a kg. Even so, at 5 kg per square foot a 60 square foot slab will be north of $3000. IN AFGHANISTAN!! Pat, those aren't my slabs. But they can be yours!

Dicky the Rockhunter has a friend in the counter top business who gave him brick sized scraps of Labradorite countertops. He sent one to me that was a perfect brick and dang... some of those slabs I cut from it were so nice and solid blue! Ever since then I have always wanted a Labradorite counter top

KD That is Lapis, sodalite is also use sometimes! lol www.calacattaslabs.com/ is this vendor. No clue about pricing. Their website domain is registered to a Las Vegas address. I do not know if this is where the slab yard is. I'd expect to see $50+ per square foot. Maybe even $150+. Cheap granite like at home depot is $10 sq/ft. Pretty everyday granite is $12-25 sq ft. Then the sky is the limit from there. I have catalogs from local vendors that have true labradorite, tons of various crazy marble/travertines, tiles made of malachite....... Crazy lapidary stuff.
