It's about 2 3/8 inches long. Any ideas about what this type of point was used for?

Very nice find, sleestak! Not sure what the point may have been used for, but hope a forum member can give their expert advice. Welcome to the forum! Speaking of sleestaks, watched "Land of the Lost" movie on Saturday. The T-Rex in it rocks!

That could be a projectile.Often times a flat side is a tool.It is close to an awl or a scribe or even a drill. But with that shape it falls into a lot of 'could be ' categories'.One thing for sure,it's an artifact and well done.

Nice point- thanks for showing. Like James said, it could be a tool. I'd like to see a photo of the other side as it might help identify it. Thanks, Rick B

Could be a projectile point but I'd go with a drill. Found a few similar pieces out in California....Mel

Here is the other side and a side profile. The pointed end has a slight hook shape.

I should also let you know, that Indian artifacts are illegal to pick up and keep in the state of Oregon....Don't be showing it off much...Just a heads up...
