Hire did you guys mount your double barrel lot o tumbler? I can't find anything pre made locally. Do I need to pour my own block? I found an 85 pound block, but the instructions say a minimum of 100 pounds. Thanks!

I bought a normal concrete block (the one with two holes) for one dollar at Home Depot. There was a broken beg of Quikrete there that I got for half price. I put it on a scrap of plywood and filled the holes with Quikrete. I smoothed off the top with another scrap board. I painted it with left over paint and used the stickers to apply the tumbler.

I just retread this. I didn't see that you have a double barrel. Mine is a single barrel.

They sell solid 12x12x2 at Lowes. Stack 10 of those with thick silicone strings between the bricks. That should fit the double barrel vibe.

Hey Geoff, I like how you mounted it so high. I your pillar looks more like the space needle in Seattle.
Danb You will see many variations for a setup but the key is to have heavy solid weight attached to the vibe. This helps keep all the vibrating energy in the vibe tumbler to polish your material. Any dispersed vibration outside your vibe is wasted energy and makes your vibe less efficient. Even with the couple hundred pounds sealed underneath mine on our concrete deck I still feel the vibration it disperses. That still seems to be ok though. Originally I had this grand idea to have it in the house. Lol when I started it up with the block there was this intense reverb in every room like all the joists and beams where singing harmoniously. It was intense and I hauled that sucker outside as fast as I could.
You may know this but it's worth mentioning that you have to have both barrels filled while running. That scared me away from a double. Now I realize I should of taken advantage of having a double and one outlet used as you can just have filler or ceramic in there to keep it balanced when running one batch.
Send us pics of how you end up mounting yours. Matt

My Lot-O is in my basement and I can't hear it upstairs. I have it attached to the concrete block and the concrete block sits on a folded towel. I don't know if the towel is necessary, but it doesn't make much noise. It's about as loud as my Lortone 33B. My Lortone QT66 can be heard upstairs, which I need to figure out a way to fix.

If you look at the bottom of my first picture, the pillar sits on a piece of styrofoam. No felt vibration anywhere near it. My 12lb thumler's makes more noise than both Lot-Os.

Thanks for all the ideas. I went with Mattatya's suggestion. The tumbler arrives Saturday. How long are you supposed to wait after mounting the lot-o before using it?

Well, I got the lot-o all set up and the first load in it. Its a mixed batch of petrified wood, jasper and agates. All local material. Crossing my fingers!

Very cool, sounds like you got it all worked out. You will be happy. I'm going to post some obsidian I pulled out today from the vibe. There are some great vibe recipes. I just used Krystee's TNTmom with great results. Looking forward to seeing results of your vive tumble. Matt

I mounted my single Lot-O to one 12x12x2 block, which seems to work fine. Maybe I should stack another one under it to see if there is any real difference..?
