This is a light cart that goes over some rough terrain. It is also a rolling seat.A dairy crate bunjys to the top if needed. The axle is raw.The ball bearings and original axle were removed and a 1/2 inch bolt is about 8 inches long is welded to the ends of a solid shaft. Then a washer, then the wheel, then another washer is slid onto the bolt. Then two 1/2 inch nuts thightened against each other to hold the wheel on.So the wheel has aluminum hubs that are rolling agianst the steel bolt. With plenty of grease. No more ball bearings. It's OK.You got to go a long way with 24 inch wheels to wear the hubs out. Yes John,i did see that cart-for a 5 gal bucket i think. It is lighter than this cart i think. The seat is an impotant part of my cart.Reading glasses at a sitting distance and low 1.5 rating works well for 50+ peopleHAHA.And used it on Rio Grande gravels, they require good eye site to read thru the majic patinas. Hi Helen.Jim wanted me to post that for him. That cart works well in desert. Not in the Florida scrub!!!He is always hiking in those Wyomoing Himalayas,he had already thought about bicycle tires. But he was going to do it with the bearings in-the right way.

You need a TIG! Then make the entire thing from aluminum for weight savings. Lighter cart, more rocks per trip!
