*L* It was gorgeous yesterday wasn't it. I had a big oak tree down across one of the horse trails from the big wind storm a week or so ago and was out cutting it up yesterday. Actually worked up a sweat, then came back to the house and put on my shorts. Sun shining, birds singing, wildflowers blooming ( yard is brim full of bluebonnets and the air smells so fine!) blue skies, iced coffee in my hand on the back deck. It don't get better than that. Thank you global warming *L*
Ole Rich, he's like one them little black sweat gnats. Only purpose in life is to buzz around folks and be annoying...Mel

I'm like you Snuffy. I was in the garage with the door open and suddenly I realized it was getting pretty warm. Luckily the door faces east so it didn't get too bad. When I finished slabbing in the afternoon, I put on the AC and then turned it off before going to bed. It was in the high 40s this morning and should be great for at least the next week or so. Now if we could only get some rain!

We broke record lows. Last year it was 12C and this year -20C. More snow than normal too, but nothing like in the late 70s. I could turn the global warming post into a food related post, but I won't. ;D

I've been enjoying the warmer weather down here at my mom's. Yep, still here, helping my mother since she had a leg problem and is having trouble walking. We broke records a few days ago but it's been pretty nice since, in the 80's and sunny. I've been sitting out on the porch with my puppy enjoying the weather. Mel, I now have a picture of you in short sitting on a porch with an ice tea. Looking good. ;-)

Hey Snuffy, I'm getting a little sick of your posts about poppies and warm weather. Here's the forecast for this afternoon where I live:
Snow showers with areas of blowing snow. Steady temperature around 29. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
The forecasts for the next few days look almost identical. I don't think it got over 15 on Sunday. If you count windchill, it was much colder. Last night we got about three inches of snow. So don't expect any sympathy from me over your heat wave! Grrrrr...

Ok, now I just have to remember to rub it in when we have 80 degrees with a breeze off of Lake Huron and you have 110 degrees! I just have to stop looking at your pictures of flowers because even my daffodils are afraid to show themselves. The ground is still frozen solid!

Got 6" of snow so far today, and Thursday's forecast is 60 degrees lower than last year/ same date. I think spring flowers are a little way off yet. Chuck

Bluebonnets are just getting into full bloom and are really pretty. Not as good as last year beccause of the lack of rain, but still plenty enough beauty to be shared by all. We had our trumpet vines start blooming a couple weeks ago and they are going crazy along with the Columbines. Even the Bermuda is coming out of dormancy. Spring is really pretty around central Texas.
I don't worry about the 100 temps in the summer here, I just head to CO for four months! ;D

Heat really doesn't bother me much. I like it wayyyyy better than cold. They don't photograph super well but here are the bluebonnets starting to bloom in my yard right off my rear deck. They smell great too. I also collect desert plants and my Huisache Acacia is just starting to bloom. I'll get a pic when it's going strong and it really smells like perfume....Mel
