Pretty stuff! I've never seen that aquatic before. I'm a big fan of aromatic plants too. We have a big water trough out back and keep it stocked with local aquatic plants and mosquito fish. Looked out back this morning and a dang deer was standing knee deep in the trough and he ate all the dang plants. Never had that happen before and very glad it was not a pond full of expensive nursery plants *L*.....Mel

Notice the 3 foot tall fence in the hybrid lily stock pond behind the Go Devil? They will not jump it since it is in the water. They would eat every lily pad in one night if the fence was not there. The water hawthorne is pond weed family-Aponogeton Distachyos, and smells exactly like a tropical water lily. You ought to let lotus take your pond over for a few years. You can kill it with one cheap application of round up(it is harmless to pond animals). Attachments:

The photography is a no brainer with pretty subject. The smell is powerful Helen. The latin name is Nymphea Odorata, odorata=smell.I put one little pot of lotus in a 100 x 10 foot pond last year and it took most of it over Scott.I took a picture of it yesterday, will take another in a month or 2 to show the incredible growth. It bloomed heavily and provided loads of green lotus seeds for snack
