These are wet, going into polish mode. They usually polish to a wet look.Am starting to dial in which corals can be cooked to nice color by heat treating them. Some more.... www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/sets/72157633067963933/Oh yea,the 7th photo is silicified oysters. They looked like crap until tumbled them.I threw bunches off to the side on the hound trip. Also saw sand dollars,i think they were silicified too-and clams and urchins.

dang...... very cool
yesterday I went to the st louis rock show. Your coral would of sold out instantly. None of the coral there had any color. All just white looking. Im stoked about the coral I got from you. One of the coolest things I have. I never thought coral could look so great until I seen what you posted.

Beautiful specimens. I'd never have believed that that stuff would come out so colorful. The pink one is especially nice and carnelian that pure and unfractured is very hard to come by.... Mel

The chips w/black are a whole new category of coral from inland of Tampa. They are very tough and grainy at times but heat treatment makes them waxy at thebreak.A 1 inch slab has several color layers from the heat.Bizzare colors some ugly and some real fine.Much more polyp structure and color.

your corals look great in any lighting. Our pebble pup kids meeting at our club was last night and I took some of your corals in our "show off" box and I tried to explain your process to the kids. I really like the pink/purple piece with red dots on the left side of your photo and the one at the bottom reminds me of NEMO from the movie "finding NEMO"

Those are way cool, I'll bet they'd make some awesome cabs. You should get a cabbing machine if you don't have one!!

I am such a dumb ass.I wish i had saved the oysters Randy.i will load up this summer. All i saw was the thick crusty calcium carbonate and did not know what was on the inside.Just load that stuff in the tumbler and tumble with only water and the next morning you got more mud than rocks.Clean the mud out,add more rock and keep cleaning the mud out until you are ready to tumble with grit. I know what to collect now.I will really get some wild stuff when the water is low in the summer and can collect specific material.May have to purchase Tampa stuff from the knappers,it's mostly on private property.
