I put these pics on here last year.Since there aren't many blooming this year, thought these might be interesting for the ones that haven't seen them! I didn't take these pics, would have loved to see them in person! snuffy Dang it,the best one is gone!

Beautiful! We have pretty fair bluebonnets in the yard this year, inside the game fence, but unfortunately we've also had an outbreak of Genista Moth larvae which are gradually spreading throughout the bluebonnets and totally destroying the plants. Guess the short warm spell we had awhile ago gave them quick start this year so they eat and multiply faster than the bluebonnets can grow.....Mel

Snuffy,
I think that picture may have been taken on highway 16 not too far from Llano. I've never seen so many of them as last year. When we were hunting for llanite, they were as far as the eye could see, in every direction.
Here in the Georgetown area, they are starting to bloom pretty nicely but not so much as last year. Still they are beautiful to see.

Denny, That does look like the area where the pics may have been taken. The drive west from Llano along the south side of the river is awesome. Roadside is often so full of flowers that the colors look like an artists palette.....Mel

Hope you don't mind e adding to your post but here is a pic of my yard in front of my shop. My camera tends to wash out the blue but the pic shows a pretty good stand of bluebonnets that came up this year.....Mel
