Warren send me recently some of his wonderful Disdero material and gave me the challenge to create an Eagle-spirit (following the Wolf and bear from last year) for one of his friends. As usual, I started out with a carbon-paper copy and then went my own way. Ended up with that. ;D ;D ;D ;D Looks like a parrot, ;D ;D but little by little, I should get there. Here is the original rough and first revision yesterday in top row, plus lower row with latest revision today. And one more time bigger to see the transformation thus far, from the parrot. lol15 Now, I think, I still need to dig deeper into the head on top of the beak to make it appear stronger. Its a though job as I can't add the feathers before the shape overall is acceptable and yet need to leave enough space to add the feathers. Without feathers, this thing will never look as bad as it should.

Love it so far, its looking great and when you get the detailing the way you want it and have it all polished up that will look out standing
when your finishing up the feathers I might suggest that you leave the grooves in the detailing matt polished so they pop better

I'm easy--all the photos look more eagle than parrot to me. Whenever I see one of your creations in the making, I wish I could be standing there watching what you are doing. This eagle is going to be phenomenal!

Thanks everyone, still a long way to go to make this one count. Whenever I see one of your creations in the making, I wish I could be standing there watching what you are doing. This eagle is going to be phenomenal! Susan, You would be very bored with that. Its slow going, and when things go well, its done before you realize its done.

Finally got some update on this bird. Its still slow going, but at least now with the eye fitted it looks like the raptor it is supposed to be. Next up, the two main feathers, then polish and deciding on a cab to mount on and finally the angle at which it will sit on. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the eye is a Polkadot coming in at about a 12th. of an inch. Best regards, Kurt

Tank you all.
Still a long way to go and the sanding as well as the background (I'm thinking of something solid dark this time) will still make or braek the appeal of it.
Thanks for looking, have a great weekend, Kurt
