Howdy folks, Continuing to take pics of some of my finds as I get them washed off. Much of the pet wood from this area is in limb cast form, totally replaced by agate of various sorts. Nothing of the wood grain or internal structures is left to show the nature of the wood that was replaced. I still like them though as they are often very cool agates to cut. Found a lot of limb cast this trip and here are pics of just a few., Thanks for lookin....Mel Big one totally replaced by mulitcolored moss agate. Even has botryoidal stuff in the void. Another big one, this one mostly chalcedony with some moss and plumy stuff: Moss and tubes in this one: Tons of plume here. Looks almost like Graveyard Point excpet is was a wood cast: My favorite again found by my better half. I walk miles and she finds all kids of good stuff within a hundred feet of my jeep *sigh* And finally, a more typical example. Lots of these casts are full of golden, red, or white moss or jasper.

I hate to say it, but you're dead on - your better half got the best of this group. - Tho I am constantly amazed at the variety of agate found in these casts. Never would have expected it.
Beautiful specimen.
