Thursday morning rolled around and I was feeling pretty beat up from the past couple days but eager to get out to Woodward Ranch. After breakfast and some preparation we set out with Mark, Jeri and Dan and soon arrived at our destination
Mark, Jeri and Christa out in front of the rock shop
Jan arrived and let us inside, what a great experience to finally be there! Here's the famous back lit plume display
If that doesn't get you droolin' nothing will!
Some pretty cacti blooms just outside the store
We chatted with Jan, got our maps and off we went
We hounded 'red plume canyon' and started finding some biscuits and nice pieces
After a while Mark and Jeri headed to the east side to look for Jeri's keys she lost last time and Dan, Christa and I headed for the hill above the ranch.
Off to search the ravines
On the climb out we ran into Gil hounding the hill, and then back at the store we found Ed and Jamie
Ed, Dan and Christa
I regret not getting pics of Gil and Jamie, and especially not getting a group shot of all of us but we were pretty scattered out the few days we were there. Christa and I went and spent some time with Gil, Ed and Jamie while the rest of the group headed back to Alpine to eat. We shared some nice rock, looked at some cabs and had a great time. Christa and I left at dark, while the others came back later and I assume had a blast! ;D
Such a wonderful experience, I wish we could have stayed longer. I appreciate the chance to meet you all and your generosity.. RTH'rs are the BEST!!!
Ok our Woodward haul
Not the biggest haul of the trip but I'm confident there's some good stuff lurking in these agates
Thanks again for checking out our trip. Now if you'll excuse me I got a few new rocks to cut ;D
