James, I would say if gas is going up then silver probably isn't far behind!

Prices are probably swinging due to emotional investing based on fears of the Euro collapsing due to the situation in Greece and Cyprus. The sky has not fallen. Pundits have been predicting inflation for a couple years now at least, and there's still no evidence of it. Now they're probably afraid the economy is deflating. Expect prices to climb "too high" again though the next time the pundits predict the collapse of something else.

Its going to be up or down depending upon the moods of the commodity speculators and not on supply and demand. Bob

I've heard it might go down a little more but it's anybody's guess on what it will do. I may have to dig up some cash and get some more wire although I haven't used a lot of what I already have since I've been helping my mom so not wrapping as much (plus I admit to getting a little down on wrapping since I haven't sold anything lately...but that's another story). Hope it goes down a little bit more at least, we could all use the break from high prices if even for a short time.

I agree with Diane, sales have really slowed. Even if silver goes down significantly, people don't want to pay enough to even recoup your silver investment, let alone the stone, the cabbing and polishing, and the labor for wrapping. I know times are tough, but the buying public just doesn't appreciate what goes into a wire-wrapped pendant or other jewelry. I'm going to be looking into materials other than silver. Jean

Jean, I thought about buying some red brass to try out but not sure the public would go for that since it's not "the real thing" as far as precious metals although I've seen a lot of our talented wrappers using brass as well as parawire types and they look great.

Was down town today and talked to a buddy whose store sells guns, coins, silver etc. He told me every one ounce silver round in town sold out yesterday and this morning. Only thing left are collectors silver coins and American Eagles with the eagles running four bucks over spot and the others of course even higher *L*.....Mel
