About 16 pounds worth. Please enjoy www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/sets/72157633265769440/The 35 pound barrels are tumbling these same type corals from ping pong to baseball and larger size.In 600 grit i am running slow at 20 RPM and basically syrup(8 cups of sugar for padding).I skipped coarse stage and started with 220 for 4 days at 60 RPM.So they should be done in 4(220)+7(600)+7(polish)=18 days.At 220 cleanout i thought they were impressive the way the high spots wear and color explosion. These coral silicifications larger than 2 inches often have a pithy center but well silicified outer shell. The colors are often more intense in the outer shell of these with a pithy center. The pith is usually a blinding white color.

Those were done in about 3 weeks Carlos, but had to pregrind over half of them to get to internal layers. This next batch sounds like a german tank in 60RPM mode.I have ground the calcium carbonate coating off several hundred pounds of these 2-4 inchers without grit at this speed. In the first 48 hours i do 3-4 cleanouts of mud.About 20 pounds of mud per 35 pound barrel.Gotta add about 15-18 pounds of rock each time!!Only then can i see what is inside and what color the silicification is unless there was a prior chip and it is usually a false reading because of stain or location.Mostly 2-4 inch chunks at that speed broke a handful of smaller test chips of coral for grit carrier.Slower speed and thick syrup(or heavy media) and plactic pellets will be the only way i know to cushion such large pieces. Well,if you tumble all 2-4 inch stuff then only the high spots get ground heavily to a large degree.I have to run on the dry side to get the grit to stick since there are no smalls. So this is an intentional effect-to grind high spots much more than low spots to give patches of skin removal-making sense?? Yes,they will just be a bunch of paper weights.Actually thinking about door knobs for the high end Miami/Palm Beach clan(coral works in their deco).

coral doorknobs.
Kwikset or Schlage style knobs. $100 a set. How many sets do you need?
