Still chopping wood. The last piece in this series was a long hunk but stopped my saw and almost burnt up my belt before I caught it. Looks like sharpening time again because this wood seems very hard stuff to cut. Got to admit though, that despite replacing the blade that came with it with a good MK blade, this Covington saw has never cut as well as my old Beacon Star and the tiny vice is really pissing me off. Smallest vice I've ever seen on a ten inch saw.....Mel A monocot of some kind. Looks like palm of some sort but with dense, really tiny vascular bundles. This one's a dicot, hardwood maybe. Looked like a shrinkie on the outside but inside just brightly colored wood. The palm limbcast that stopped the saw cold. Little palm fiber pattern remaining and ugly colored so I won't hack away at this one anymore.
