This is a Woodward geode that I found during the recent West Texas Blitz. It was found in an area where Mark had holstered his sidearm because he had come across mountain lion scat. It took me about fifteen minutes to dig out of the volcanic rock. All in all, it weighed about a pound and a half. This is how it looked when I first came upon it. I was thinking it was a large biscuit with plume in it. This is the entire rock. I cut out a small piece because I thought that there was a biscuit within a biscuit and this is what I found. Here it is cut in half. And this was the end result. Condor

A rare find for that area?Nothing like finding a hollow cavity full of fine crystals.

I'm far from an expert, but I think if you take a slice off the bottom, there might be red plume in there.
What ya gonna do with it?

What a great find Gil! Looks to have a bit of amethyst in the crystals? Nice colorful plumes surrounding it as well!!
