Anybody else have problems with the belt? Bought it used and thought the belt was stretched. Bought a new belt, same problem. They seem to be just a touch long. I've got the motor all the way over, but it will sometimes quit. Both belts are stamped Germany. Thanks Clyde

Some folks grind out the slot to make it easier to move the motor over more. I think what happens though, is that the motor doesn't bolt in true and the shaft just slightly tilts in. By tilting the shaft out a bit when you tighten the bolts seems to help. The whole set-up, for me has always been a problem for me with a fully loaded QT12 barrel. I'm always having to adjust the motor. It seems to work fine with 2 fully loaded QT66 barrels. For the most part, I've given up on the Lortone frames and have converted to homebuilt, with Lortone barrels.

I had to fix a lortone qt12 because the drive shaft bushing was wore out and the drive shaft was pulling into the motor. I fitted a pipe bushing that fit the shaft and fastened it. so far, it is working ok. have been running it for three weeks now and the belt hasn't come off yet. charlie

I've never had a problem. The resistance from the weight of the barrel makes it "tighten". Actually, it's tighter on the "pull" side of the belt, and looser on the "return" side of the belt. Mine is almost to loose to turn the pulleys without the weight of the barrels, but works fine with the barrel. My instructions explain that's how it's supposed to work.
The belt can also seem to be just right without the barrel, but will actually be too tight to turn a loaded barrel. In that case you won't see it slipping of course. If the belt you bought is too long, then it isn't anything to do with the Lortone frame. The belt I'm sure isn't made only for Lortone. The other potential problem is that the belt is riding too deeply into that pressed two piece larger pulley. Be sure the two sides of the pulley haven't pulled apart over time.
