I am putting together a class on cold connections for our club. I wanted to give people the option to make jewelry without the need for soldering or expertise required to wire wrap. Also, the tool investment is minimal. I made a pendant, but thought it would be nice to offer another option and possibly appeal to both genders. Sorry for the crappy pics. I used handmade rivets and a tabbed setting.   |

That is a good move Nancie.I like the hammer and anvil.I bought mixed metals at the local scrap yard and made stuff out of it.Cut various sized railroad track anvils and polish them to mirror with wet sanding equipment.Polish the hammer face too.Learned a lot about working with base metals.The cold forming was by far my favorite.Got it pretty smooth  |

I really do enjoy metalworking.
And it can be done on a budget...hammer, anvil, saw, and metal.
