Awesome material. I have always liked Deschutes although I don't know if I have any of it, probably not.

yeah the the bigger one is really neat looking. The smaller one has good pattern on the outside. I need to take a few more photos.
The bigger one has those three cut marks on the upper left hand side that you can see.
Im no lapidary expert but Im wondering if they could be worked out without having to recut it?

yeah randy, i have been searching for a blue dechutes specimen for quite some time now. There for a while I thought blue deschutes was just a myth. I got these from J2B2 in Oregon. I seen them in a picture that keystonecop put on here when he took pics of a rock show that he attended. Pic wasnt all that good but I could still tell they were either blue deschutes or blue biggs and J2B2 confirmed they were Deschutes and that he got them personally from Judy Elkins.

I love J2B2. He sells big stones and lets me pack a LFRB full when I want to.
Brad that stuff is really great. Totally tripendicular.
Yes Jim, tripendicular!

The bigger one has those three cut marks on the upper left hand side that you can see. Try this: Get a tub of water. Put a big slab of granite in it. Lay some 100 grit wet dry wand paper on the granite. Start rubbing the cut marks away. Keep sand paper fresh until they are gone. Then replace sandpaper with finer grit all the way until polished. The poor man's flat lap!

forgot to update this one. Thanks to rocks2dust for reminding me and giving a history lesson on blue biggs. The first specimen I said was blue deschutes. Thats what J2B2 guy said it was. Asked Judy Elkins on facebook about it and she said Blue Biggs. Its still a killer one and most likely from the 60's.
Thanks rocks2dust for messaging me about it. I forgot to update the thread.
