Don't do it.
I have one and the douchebag selling them will screw you.
You are going to be replacing bearings all of the time.
He uses garbage bearings and has impossible restrictions for the warranty.
AND, he is an a-hole.

Daniel,I have an MJR 35 lber.It will dang sure do the job on rocks. I think Mel has the base that he uses a Lortone barrel on.Now as far as recommending it,there are some drawbacks.I have had problems with the barrel wearing out and have done repair on the top and bottom.Availability of parts seems to be the biggest drawback. Some are unable to get in contact with anyone on these.Dont know if that has changed or not.I bought mine used and had problems with the barrel immediately. Also the bearings need to be greased daily or you will have a problem there. There aren't many on here that have this tumbler.Maybe there is a good reason! Also this tumbler runs faster than the others.
I guess I'm trying to say more trouble than its worth!

they are loud too. I think the RPM is a little fast as well. I have heard some folks who liked theirs.
He does sell just the barrels. I thin it might be good to buy some barrels and build your own base.

Even if you grease the bearings every 12 hours, they will crap out because the bearings are not meant for constant duty. They are meant for basic light duty wheelchairs. The other parts are poorly put together and when you go to replace the bearings, the fastener will break. When you complain, he plays stupid. I had to rework the base so it would not keep crapping out.
Build your own.

OK there are issues with the seller who lately has been unresponsive and now days getting parts ( belts are all I've needed) from the seller is difficult. Easy to get them cheap from Grainger. I've run this base unit with Lortone barrels for almost seven years now, mostly 24/7. I use it strictly for coarse grinding. When I first got it, I did not lube it enough or had a bad set of bearings and they ground through the shaft in a few days. The seller sent me a new set of bearings and a new shaft and now I use gear lube on the bearings at least once every other day, often daily, and no problems since. Way better than standard Lortones. When you first get the unit it turns at very high RPMs so really grinds fast and is way to rough for polish stages. After a few years it slows down to regular speeds. It's as quiet as a Lortone with Lortone rubber barrels. Any tumbler with PVC barrels will be pretty loud. I like mine well enough.....Mel

PVC barrels are better made out of heavier Schedule 40 instead of that SDR 35 pipe. They wear thru quick if you tumble a lot of larger stuff over 1.5 inches.

I looked into them when they first came out because the advertised price was pretty low. Reading through, the price doesn't include barrels. The PVC barrels available from them don't impress me too much. Home made or used large tumbler would be a better bet.

Cheaper than online probably. A friend of mine works at a major bearing and gear outfit. He took the tumbler to work and could not find quality bearings to fit it unless it was refitted.

pos seller, do not expect after sales care
I wore out the barrels in less than a year too. They get thin when brittle.
To go to schedule 40 as jim correctly advises I lose the second barrel capacity.
I regret my purchase.
