Howdy folks, A couple of days ago I was going through my George West wood while sawing rocks. had this hunk of wood covered by caliche so little was visible that would show what I had. It had a fracture down the middle so I tapped it with my hammer and it broke in two revealing a nice hunk of palm, bright orange n one side and multi-colored on the other. I'll have to put on a fresh blade before I slab this one as it's pretty big for my old blade on my ten inch saw but it looks to be a good solid palm specimen. Here's a pic. No sun so I'll try to take another photo when I can get it in the sun....Mel

That is a great surprise hidden in a rock. I just love it when a plain looking rock turns out to be something very cool like that.
