Hello, This question was kind of asked in the KCC for May and I was hoping everyone could give their input for a decision, discretely or publicly. Thanks all Carleton

I vote no limit. By being able to enter more cabs, you are giving people more options to choose from. I think the intention of the contests is to showcase different materials, and what the members here are able to do, not so much to win. But, if that's what you are entering for, just remember, you are making more competition for yourself. I say go for it! Jean

If the materials are different then I think it would be ok to enter more than 1 cab.. but not if you're going to enter say 5 labs and 3 tiffanies.... variety is the spice of life and I think it would be ok here too!
I should also add that I have not entered yet because I keep forgetting to take pictures of the rough and preform!!! <V8 smack to forehead!!> Doh!!!

My initial thought was no to more than a one cab entry as I think it was suppose to be a "best shot" kind of competion. But, I also think that there is some spice in multipal entrys and if the members like that idea then I'm all for it. I think the Dad brought up a good point about posting a variety rather than multipals of one material. Carlton, as the chairman of the KKC, thanks for putting the voteable options out there and thanks again for doing the KKC Following with interest!

For somebody like me who has a mobile lifestyle and has to put everything away, I tend to group my projects while I have the equipment out, so I might have a few different entries at a time. While it's not the end of the world to hold entries off until subsequent months, it might be nice to be able to enter two or three while they are fresh in my mind. I'm thinking there might be others that might like to work up a couple entries while they got the cabber warmed up. Just my input. Jo

kind of defeats the idea of a contest in my opinion, but hey, if it will increase participation I'm all for it at this point. It will be kind of awkward of voting on a contest where all 3 cabs are submitted by the same person though.

Heres the problem, number one is that someone enters a cab and doesnt get many positive comments so they enter another because they think they r losing. Number two is that the cab by being entered as rough, slab and finished cab requires premeditation, planning and effort. More than one entry is like a shotgun approach, there will be people thriwing a bunch out in hopes that one will appeal to the voting public. Number three is I think this poll is itself flawed, by giving several options for how many cabs how do you decide which option wins? The question is multiply cabs right? If 45% vote for one cab then all the rest of the votes added together are greater than 45% so then multiple cabs wins but if each option is weighed by itself then the one cab 45% wins right? Sorry if I muddied the water here. I am now confused myself.

Yes, I understand your thinking. I thought the same thing myself. The question should have had only two choices: one entry, or more than one entry.
Rather than give it a second trial, let's just keep it the way it is - one entry person. My opinion only. Jean

Multiple cabs would be cool, but everyone would have to enter the same amount of cabs, and the vote should be based on the group of cabs as a whole. I wouldn't go more than 3 cabs though, it might get confusing.

I think we need to think about what, exactly, the contest is for. I mean, for me, it's been a place to exercise refining my technique and a safe place to learn how to "compete." The whole prize thing is great...and winning, but to me, that isn't so much what I use it for. It really gives me an idea of how other people look at my work and makes me take a close look at my own work in relation to what others can and are doing. Participating in it is a kind of growth step for me that is making me stretch my skills and giving me the courage to get my stuff out there in the world on a different level.
As far as multiple entries, I think 3 should be the top #. That way if you've done something great in the beginning of the month, you can enter...as well as the middle and end of the month. If you put something up in the beginning...you're kind of stuck with it, no matter what you produce for the rest of the month. So yes, I'm going for multiple entries and I think the # should be 3. I think it will encourage a lot more participation throughout the month and give a better opportunity for growth.

I voted for one but I have never played yet lol. I was thinking about my vote and thought of something that made a little sense. That would be if we went to 2 and the second one submitted later in the month from the first would then become your first cab for the next month unless it won that months kkc. I think would make for more entries and could get more interest going. George

Hello, Sorry for the short absence, I had some pc/net issues this month. I should have added a few more things when I started the poll. As for the "multiple" I would have posted the poll selections per cab, not per person. So if Mr Three entered 3 cabs, Mrs two entered 2 cabs and Miss One entered 1 cab there would be 6 poll selections to choose from, not just 3 as if to choose a person, but rather to choose a cab. As far as the this poll, I had certainly thought of the possible % potential for the overall votes of all the multiple options to exceed the % of the single entry option. If that happened I would have got opinions on the set number or opened another poll narrowing down the final number everyone agreed on. Most likely going with the highest number of votes in the multiple options only... if that makes sense. If anyone thinks that the poll should be re done, or that the results do not reflect the majority opinion we can certainly keep the ideas open Carleton
