Just thought since the shark teeth were shown by a few of us..I would show my shark jaws.. Both are from the Florida coast areas.... This one is 14 inches inside the jaw line... This one is 9 inches inside the jaw line...

Here's an interesting way to display shark jaws like those. I don't have any photos, but years ago I mounted shark jaws for my sister's boyfriend. I cut a 12" square out of 1/2" plywood. Then I glued a 12" square mirror (the kind they use for covering walls) onto it. I covered that with some heavy black material, fastening with glue around the edges on the back. Decide now if you want to orient the square straight up and down, or tipped 45 degrees (like a diamond). After the glue was dry, I positioned the shark jaw on the front side, and drew an outline inside the jaws with chalk. Then I cut as needed to be able to roll the black fabric back and under so you can no longer see the chalkline, and glued it down to the mirror. I drilled a couple of small holes in the back of the shark jaw. Using some black thread, I stitched it to the black fabric in a couple places. Put some type of hanger on the back, hang it on the wall, and you've got a functional piece of art. I suppose you could even insert the whole thing into a frame, if you want. When you look in the mirror, you see your face inside the shark jaws. Well, it amused me, anyway, when I was younger. Jean

Jean that would be amusing, although a little creepy....lol. Hope nobody was on the bitey end of those before they became decorations.

The smaller one has a story to it......A diver I know in North Dakota, took a trip to Florida to ocean scuba dive with some buddies of his......This shark was getting pretty aggressive towards the group,so they took him out with a speargun... Not going to tell you what I payed for it...But I wanted it bad and got it..LOL (You don't want to be bidding against me at an auction either) LOL....

Rockpickerforever-I had them mounted on some old barnwood for awhile, but they creep my wife out,so now they are just tucked further back in my wall collections....(I like your idea though-interesting..Thanks)

Fossilman, good advise. Store in memory, never bid against fossilman in an auction.
