Photobucket was what was recommended when I started. I learned how to use it and that was that. No reason to find anything else...

Me too. It was better than the alternatives when I started, and is likely to stay around for decades. I guess I've been too lazy to explore the alternatives, even though some of the "improvements" have been irritating.

Thanks-you guys are right-the forum's recomend was photobucket. And that answers the question.Flicker is getting some great reviews.I was a little educated on flicker before joining forum so decided to put square in round and do flicker.I am a flicker fan and not a computer person.I do like flicker way better than Picaso. And i like using flicker w/forum a lot. Thanks again

I use both, but just for posting pictures here. I got a photobucket account when I used up all my free space on Flickr. I have never really figured out a quick way to copy links from flicker, though. I have a method that works, but its not quick or easy. I really like copying links from photobucket. Flicker is integrated into a lot of Apple apps, so it's easier to upload to Flickr.

I use them both. Its almost like they are owned by the same people. If you look at the editing options they are the exact same. Like the orange glasses on my avatar pics. Both photobucket and flickr have the same glasses to choose and the same funny hats you can add to pictures.
I dont like one more than the other. They both seem about the same to me.

I've tried a few different ones, but I like Photobucket best. I've had this account for several years now, and my account is only 4% full. The key is to only upload photos that you have already reduced in size, or, if you resize them on photobucket, have it replace the original, don't keep the full size photo on your account. I pretty much had Photobucket down, until they went and made the changes. But I am slowly re-figuring it out. I knew how to do the bulk linking on the old Pb, but didn't see where to select multiple photos for bulk linking. You have to have easy linking mode (in the settings section) turned on, and when you are viewing the album with the photos you want, you have to turn the organizer on. A bar with your options comes up at the bottom of the page, you click on all the photos you want while holding down the shift key, then click LINK in that menu. A new window will pop up, click in the box and it automatically copies all the links. It already has the [/IMG] in place, you don't need to add it when you are posting. You should have already set your settings for type of link you want (click on your user name, select user settings, then album, and under Links, select IMG code - that's what you need here). And remember, the Help link next to your user name is there to help you! Click on it, then ask a question. You don't have to be a genius to be able to use it, save yourself some time and just ask for help. Jean

I think it is harder to link to a single photo on flicker. Folks are always posting their photostream. Which is OK'ish when the thread is new, but almost useless when the thread is older and they have since added a lot to their photo stream.

According to a shrink I went to one time, I have a psychologically non malleable personality. I hate and am very resistant to change *L*....Mel

Resistance is futile.... LOL! Ya gotta get with the program. Put on your gaudy, pointy-toed boots and deal with it! Jean

Maybe a Photobucket of Mel prowling downtown San Antonio in those boots?I have been asked how to link single pics from flicker to Forum on several occasions. Those that ask always seem to settle on Photobucket.Must have given bad instructions:> The image code is accessible on Pbucket, displayed right there w/the photo. In flicker you got to double click on the photo and then left click on properties to get the IMG code. Two extra clicks per photo, albeit quick.Maybe flicker has a way to display IMG code when doing photo manipulations. On flicker you can right click on the photo and size, and see the size of the photo previewed as it will appear in size on the forum. I am impressed w/flicker's slideshow.Sometimes they are fussy about uploading huge photos like 3000 x 2000.Once loaded a 3000 x 2000,moving them around in flicker is no problem.Of course the forum does not want those large files.I want them for croppings.I think storing photos full size is good.Like using a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 large format and instantly cutting the negative to 35 mm. I think flicker has a lot of options that i am unaware of.Am looking forward to exploring them.I am into photography and would be more interested in selling the pics of the rocks more than the rocks-weird eh? Responces are great and are educating me.Thank you.

*L* You know, about the only place I go to in San Antonio is Bass Pro Shop. Like the store and like the associated restaurant. Don't need to "change" and go somewhere else where I don't know what they have *L*. And I will never give up my love for purdy fancy boots...Mel

I love Bass Pro Shops! We get more than 1/2 our pants from there... pretty hard to find super lightweight fast drying pants with lots of pockets anywhere else:).

I like Bass Pro Shops because they are one of the very few places that carry a good quality T shirt with a pocket. I need a place to carry my glasses, a small cell phone and a pen. No pocket? no problem it will make a great grease rag! Bob
