Howdy folks, I was getting a bit bored with cutting mostly nothing but pet wood so I've decided to just grab something off the top of my odds and ends tub each time I vice up a rock. Here are a few pics. Please excuse the lighting. I wanted sun but all we have today is clouds and my autofocus won't focus well in low light. ....Mel First grab was a Condor agate I've had in the bin probably for years. It's one of those angular vein type rather than a traditional nodule and has a floating center plus dandy pink stalk aggregates along the bottom. Close up: Next grab was shrinkwood from last years trip to George West. Two slabs with different patterns: Kind of a boring Rio Grande was the next catch: And finally, a nodule from my last Lavic Siding trip before our Texas move. Moss, fortifications and poppies in this one. Closer look:

I don't know if I would cab that condor since they look so good as specimens but that shrinkwood is going to be great cabbed.

I'm loving the Condor! Especially those little plume looking things on the bottom (2nd pic) that match the center color!

Krystee, Yeah, I'm loving those too. Hadn't noticed them till I cut the Condor nodule. I guess they're kind of like sagenite but the books call those formations "stalk aggregates". I love Condors and have two cabs on the sticks waiting to be domed right now..Mel

Wow, another amazing feast for the eyes! The Agates are amazing, but that shrinkwwod you have there in Texas is really something.
