Howdy folks, Today was gym day but I cut for awhile after I got back. Just a few from the grab pile.....Mel Had a skinny block of this so I just got one slab. Chinese Crinoidal Limestone good for saw sharpening. Another Rio Grande Agate: Wingate Plume. Recently found a little pile of this in one of my tubs. Lavic Flame Agate. Came from a long stick like nodule. If anyone knows what this stuff is, please let me know. Was in my Lavic pile but I think it's not from there. Almost looks like chapenite but different colors so maybe it is from Lavic *L*. Cut from an end cut block I'd sawed before but danged if I can remember what it is.

The Crinoidal Limestone looks cool!! Can it be cabbed? Will it shine? The two slabs in the last pic are pretty!

Randy, Yep the Chinese material takes a mirror polish with ease. However there are at least a couple of grades. The lesser quality has the crinoid skeletons on gray matrix and is not nearly as pretty as the black matrix. Always look for the black limestone matrix and the blacker the better. The gray tends to lack the pink color in the crinoids too...Mel
