I was tumbling 3 chunks of pyrite with my wonderstone, but only one piece survived the rough process. I took it all the way through 600 where it was sitting patiently for me to finish grinding/polishing.
This is where the problem comes in. I thought the tupperware was dry. It had been sitting for several months and I was missing my little pyrite nugget, so I dumped it out, and it was full of water.
Wonderstone and ceramic media were fine, but the water went to work on the pyrite. Most of it was okay, but one edge was eaten away. Back to rough grind... Hopefully it survives a second round.

Whichever way it turns out; looking forward to see it.

Not as bad as initially thought after cleaning it up. Will probably throw right into 220 to get it back on track.
