Was driving down an old road last month and seen this old barn wood just laying in the ditch. I felt sorry for it and picked it up and took it home to dry out.. It took a few weeks, but it dried up great..... So I took the saw to it and some of my tools and made a photo frame for my "Brother In Law" Ray and his wife..... I made the frame and dopped some white paint on the wood and sanded the wood in areas to look like weathered paint...than painted the inside trim white......

Oh my, that is wonderful! It looks very happy now and I'm sure will be a blessing to your family for generations to come. Why not write the story on the back for them. Jo

Has a great look to it. I like this look over nice new stained picture frames.
Im a fan of recycled barn wood. Its hard to find around here anymore. The ones that were vacant got torn down. All the farmers have newer style tin buildings. About 15-20 years ago there was a craze and everybody was tearing down their old barns and selling the wood. My uncle tore down a big barn about 10 years ago. He still has a bunch of it.

For people who don't know what heart wood is,its the most beautiful part of the tree, the center and its so clean to the touch... I'll bet that looks real nice too James!!! ;D
