I never would have bought this if someone hadn't asked for it. But, once I got it and cabbed it, I really liked it. Didn't take a great polish, though.

I cant pick which wrap I like better but I sure like the pattern in the stone in the first picture.
Do you try zam on stones that don't polish well with the standard methods?

Yeah, its hard to get a good polish on those. But, there is quite a few materials out-there that look better in matte anyway. At least that's how I see it.
Looks great overall, and the wire matches the cabs perfectly.

I'm liking the softness in the shine on those, Tela! Looks even and with those wraps it's perfect! Great wraps! That second one almost has a nautical look to it... compass-like, that's really cool! With the green it has kind of a Captain Nemo feel to it... actually they both do! Excellent pieces!!!

Wow those are beautiful Tela! What do you call the style of the second one? I'm assuming that the single wire wraps are holding the stone in place from the front?

Thanks everyone ;D Chuck- I have tried zam on some soft stones. I didn't think to try it on these. This stuff is reeeeeally hard. It just doesn't take the shine you would expect to see. Cathy- That's funny! I was thinking the exact same thing! The second especially looks nautical- like a ship's wheel. Randy- I haven't done much lately that was worthy of posting. I've been in a rut. Too much going on in the family. Tommy- I did a tute for this a few years ago. As far as I know, it's my original design. Actually the frame wire holds the stone in and the prongs hold the frame. That way, the stone isn't scratched. You need really good cutters and tiny pliers for the tips.

Both are tops. Matte finish is perfect!! The kambaba is always an eye catcher.
Kambaba looks like an aerial photo of Earth.

I like both of these. I like the way you did the prong setting Being a hard stone like jade, I wonder if Chrome Oxide would polish it like Jade?

I like both of these. I like the way you did the prong setting Being a hard stone like jade, I wonder if Chrome Oxide would polish it like Jade? I have a genie with the diamond wheels to 14,000. I haven't tried anything else, yet. I do want to get a couple spin on wheels for canvas and leather, though. I haven't done much jade, but what I have done orange peeled a little. This doesn't orange peel, it's smooth, just not really a hard polish.
