The 3 P's is the secret. Practice-Patience-Perseverance. That plus study all the tutorials you can find. That's what I have done. Still do actually! I'm still a learner myself. Your wrap isn't too bad at all! I think you will get the hang of it in no time at all.

That's an awesome first wrap!! Like mentioned above, practice practice practice. Do three a day for a week. lol... sounds crazy? It's the same advice that was given to me by a master, and she was right. I did between 3 and 5 a day for a week, and by the end of the week my stuff looked almost as good as hers. It's the best way to build confidence, and confidence is 90% of this.

I think that looks great! Certainly good for the first one. Hang onto it. In the not too distant future you can look back on it and see how far you've come. Like everyone says- Practice, practice, practice.

practice practice practice.......for me they key is to leave the piece looking like " thats what I meant to do "......I am stillvery much a beginner but I would suggest doing what you already are....study the pics of all the wraps you see here....in time your will start to look more and more like the best here...in the sense they will looked more and more expertly made.......yours looks fine....it would look good around anyones neck......

That's a great first wrap and I see many more to come from you!!! Practice is critical but asking questions is too!!! As to how to get them even, it starts with the stone! If the stone is symmetrical, so is the wrap. If it's an asymmetrical stone, your wrap will be too. Both are perfect for what they are and you just kind of learn to work your way through them...which comes from practice!!! Just be sure to keep it fun and do the pieces that interest you most. From here you will just keep building! Cathy

Really great first effort. Looks a lot like my first wraps. It just takes practice to get where you want to go. You might want to try practicing with Copper wire to save the Sterling.

What everyone else said plus a possible suggestion. If you are talking about the side wraps being angled then one technique that works for me is to try to keep the wraps angled on the inside so they are straight on the outside. Basically when you wrap the wire start from the inside (where the wire is going to come up against the stone) at about a 45 degree angle and put the wrap wires right next to each other. You will notice that the outside wires look straight while the inside wires are angled.
