Christopher, that is an awesome piece. You pick up some outstanding opal stock. *jealous* LOL!

It is the same stuff in my tubs at the shows!! I cut from the same stock only I usually get to it after it has been picked over...except in November when I get the new stuff!!!

A beauty, indeed! And what a colorful fire! Doesn't Mexican opal usually have orange fire only?

Not at all Adrian. Mexican Opal will have all the colors of the rainbow.

My golly, cool stuff.

My younger son, Nathaniel, managed to find a beautiful piece of Mexican opal in one of Christopher's tubs while we were at the Stoddard Wells Tailgate show. Had red, blues, greens, etc. Great piece. Christopher always makes the trip worthwhile! A beauty, indeed! And what a colorful fire! Doesn't Mexican opal usually have orange fire only? Adrian

Thank you Paul.
The pink rhyolite can be softer sometimes. Or it can just have soft spots in it. This particular stone was pretty much the same all the way across.
