a lot of these cabs overlap. But some could be cut in addition to Susan's scene. Actually, I think Tela's scene does not overlap any others either. I will check tonight what overlaps what.

My cab could fit inside of Lee's. You just have to turn it a little to orient it right.
This was an interesting slab to use. It's good to see the range of sizes when initially all one sees is the "big picture". The pattern is generally large.

The idea of adding to Jean's moon has many enticing possibilities! When I first looked at it, I thought adding stars, but haven't quite visualized how that would be done. As a practical matter, with the bird's eye, it likely would prove a *very* good idea to back it with something when cutting that dimension. The cab I picked is small, so I would minimize anything ornamental unless it served as an extension of the cab. The bolder designs provide more workability, but not so much that the design could be interfered with.
Tela e-mailed me about her beaded tutorial and using it on the cab I drew; I think that's an excellent idea. I would likely do it with varying shades of earth tones going into (possibly) lighter to accent the river. Maybe even a matte silver. This I really would have to play with to be sure the beads didn't draw away from the cab and rather remained an extension of it.
Actually, as I think about it, I don't think the silver is a very good idea.

I went back and looked at all the messages I missed--I like what Tela did, but think I might use fewer large beads at the bottom. I also might add a small arrowhead charm or some such to accent the Native American scene, but it would have to be very small. I like the woven bail idea--(NOTE to Tela--I've learned how to weave now ), but I would taper the weaving on the bail into a "v" shape which would be almost a Native American factor and would bring the eye back to the cab. It also would "second" a small arrowhead charm at the bottom. If I couldn't find a small enough charm I would be inclined to do a ball on the end of copper , flatten it, and file to the "v" of an arrowhead. This must be in antiqued copper, of course!

I'm getting excited about the ideas now--Helen's I would run wires parallel to top and bottom and bring aways out to the side; then angle them upward to meet a bit over the top of the cab, then into the bail. It is a strong design, and a strong wrap that doesn't cover up the picture would be a nice addition.

orrum: you need to do whatever you do to "click" just to the left of the choices you want. If that does not work, then tablets may not be supported for polls.

I did not overlay all the cabs, but the larger ovals and the rectangle all overlay. I think Tela, Susan, and Orrum's could all co-exist.

Wow the overlay is interesting! Apparently the poll doesna work on a tablet, I dont get a poll like we use to get. Oh well I vote for me and Chuck. Chucks is very cool because I love the books by Dan Brown about the "all seeing eye" that is in the Masonic lodge and Chucks eye is definitely a perfect model of the Masonic symbol! Spooky I like.

How about adding a small manufactured bail in a feather or arrowhead form? You just make a loop at the top and attach the bail before wrapping the loop closed. That would provide a small enough bail and a v shape with a NA attitude (feather, arrowhead, fetish, etc). I'm never adverse to using manufactured elements when called for. I'm not a purist. My blazing sun exists in the tip of the moon. :) Well, if that does not deserve to be put in your profile status, nothing does.

LOL Daniel, my post originally had "feather" in it--and--I've got one. But when I started to think about the bail, I went back and changed "feather" to "arrowhead."

OK, I will call the contest in Susan's favor. The scene is intricate, and small differences in to be between the picture and slab may make actually making the cab more or less desirable. But then you could make one of the others.
As soon as I clean out my slab bucket, I will have a piece of birdseye for everyone who made an entry. Please PM me the address to send the slab to.
Thanks to all for a lively discussion and some interesting virtual cabs!

Congrats Susan!!!!!! That's a great scene. I didn't even think to look in that section of the slab, there was so much going on everywhere else.
Thanks Daniel, for doing this, it really is fun and very interesting.
Orrum, I voted for you and Susan. Your cab is so dead on for a dino and my grandson is a dinosaur fanatic, so it really reminded me of him a lot, too. Of course, I saw a pterodactyl beneath the T Rex, too. LOL!

Congratulations, Susan, and thanks for the contest Daniel. It was fun. It's always interesting to see how other people "think rocks" and see designs. Jean
