Good to hear that the pups are doing well. Do you think you have any champions there?
A gay stud dog? That can't be a good thing. Maybe he just doesn't like the females you are offering to him. Do you give him pornographic movies to watch, to put him in the mood? Has he ever sired a litter before? Is Lenny the old grey-muzzled RR you had for your avatar briefly?
You can say all the bad things you want about Alabama, and I'll concur. I DID live there for a year, so I know that it sucks, LOL! Loved the picturesque landscape and all, but those were some of the most inbred, bass-ackward folks you'd ever care to meet. And that hot, sticky weather can't even begin to match the gorgeous weather and climate we have in SoCal - 'course, we sho'nuff pay dearly for the priv'ledge of living here. And you think I should move back to the South??? No thank you, kindly, sir! Jean
EDIT - In all fairness, there are good and bad people everywhere. I just happened to run into a few of the bad ones there. In California, it is illegal to marry your first cousin, probably your second and third cousin as well. (There are reasons for this, LOL!) Now that I think about it, does anyone even get married anymore?? Southern hospitality is no joke, the people are really friendly. But the heat and humidity still suck, couldn't wait to get back home! Jean

It looks like 6 are champs but too early to tell. They are not champs for a great reason-white stockings.Better than health problems! THat gray face is 6 year old Dodo(like dumbdumb). That is the laziest dog until you let her out the front door. Then she is fired out of a cannon! I may be wrong about Lenny.Had his 1rst attempt with rare #1 dog in the country- Ida Bell today. She like won Westminster and female RR's are never #1.So she is man killer!Lenny is actually a real man.He foreplays when they are not receptive.A couple of days after ovulation when they are most likely to get pregnant he ties in 30 seconds.Took Ida Bell to vet this morn and progesterone test shows that she is ovulating today.Lenny was lacklusure.Bet ya in 48 hours he will all but rape her.He is more accurate than progesterone test:> Poor Alabama. It catches so much Hell.It would surprise you how much high tech stuff goes on there.Particularly in military, aerospace and automotive. They are beloved neighbors that God put there for us to ridicule. They know they are well loved.Nodular foreheads included:) A lttle taste of Bama(Muscle Shoals): Coming Home(little California girl ) by Lynyrd Skynyrd Muscle Shoals(Alabama)Album Sweet Home Alabama 17 million 255 thousand 422 Youtube Views (in 6 years on the crappy replacement band)

I'm amazed how quickly you wean them. I thought mine are quick but nowhere close to your lot. Mine are down to feed off their mom once or twice a day and eat virtually anything given to them. One of their favorite seems to be ripe mango-bone. They really take their time to lick that one absolutely clean before gnawing on it for hours on end. Other than that they have become used to an early start and I don't need an alarm-clock for the time being. If I don't come out of the room at 5:25 sharp, by 5:26 all hell breaks loose with a cacophony of whining and attempted barks (just not there yet, but give it another few days and they will bark properly). Open the door and they storm out only to be back 5 minutes later with their mom, or sooner if they hear me putting down their dish for breakfast. It has been fun watching them these past two weeks as they finally got full use of their smell and hearing. Countdown has started; 2 weeks to go before they will go to their new homes. ;(

They must be 6-7 weeks kk?You are fortunate that mom lets them feed so long. And moms milk is as good as it gets.
Sounds like you have enjoyed the experience. It is amazing how well they smell at a few weeks old.Open their food and they get the smell quick! You will be lonely when they are gone kk...When do they go to their new homes,8-10 weeks old?

It is good to have time with the new owners for the trasition. Most of the buyers have been to visit before departure.Oh,and their dogs too-good idea.
We have mostly repeat buyers and they bring past purchases w/them.Always good to see pups born here.
We take that a step further and have a party mid July every year for all litters.Like 100 people and 50-60 dogs. Each litter wears a certain color bandana so people get aquainted and litter mates reaquainted. For 13 years now.It is a great time.I have about 2000 bamboo canes stacked up for a very loud burning.Serve food and BOB it.

The Central Georgia Ridgeback Festival! Sounds like it's the finest even in all of Georgia.

It has a collection from distant lands. The fun part is the Whippets.Commonly owned by Ridgeback owners, they can ran faster.Let off leash, the inexperienced dogs chase the whippet in a losing race. The Whippet almost smiling. The Whippet brings them back exhuasted and ego bruised. With very long tongues.Giving a lesson in speed and stamina.

Had to look up Whippet on Google. Nice looking dogs, but 90 %+ of all pictures show them with tail between their legs. Are the really that nervous?
