OHHHH yes. That's material worth waiting for. Just sad that a lot of it is tremendously expensive when bought in small quantity.

I have seen it here in our shops, but did not know where it comes from. It looks even better in person.

I like the bright colors from Indonesia and territory. The coral i find in Florida is often a bit monocolor but often bright.I wish i could go there.

Exactly. I love material from all over the world, but somehow the Australians and recently Indonesians can show us stronger contrasts in many of their materials.
I promised our friend in Indonesia that I would come sometimes in about 4-5 years. And in exchange of doing a workshop with him in a far-flung place of his choice, he is going to invite me along on one of his trips to some remote mining areas. That's something I'm looking really forward to, despite the long time it will take to put it together. Just alone getting government approval is going to take forever.

So much unexplored territory in those areas.I think very little of the resources have been discovered.

Yep, see edit above. The biggest problem is that the government interferes and makes a lot of areas off-limits for legal (and hence securer) exploration.

I wonder how that compares to Burro Creek.
Kurt, I have to cut a piece of burro creek this summer. If you are interested I can send you some for carving.

Randy, I think they are from one of the pages on the link given in OP. Anyway, that site is a very interesting read. And the idea that you could find virgin mineral deposits like this is a dream all rockhounders wish. - Mark

Indonesian bas been a reptile frontier for 30 years. New species every year. Even large monitors previously unseen by science. Now we have an enterprising American humping it hard for new materials and good profits. J2B2 seems to be his Oregon dealer and a good source for his materials.

Lets see once you got the slabs. I somehow manged to suddenly amass a lot of blue and purple material over these past few months. But as I get a little better, I will always have demand for clean material.

Awesome Kurt!
I'll stay in touch. Beefjello and AZRockgeek and me with a lot of Burro Creek. My chance to pay it forward. The chunks are large. When I go to cut them, I will get a hold of you to see what you like to receive and try to figure it into my cutting.
