Howdy folks, Cut a few agate slabs between wasting my time on rainbow obsidian slabbing. Here are a couple of pics....Mel Rare one, this is Owlhead Mountains Plume agate from near Death Valley. Don't even know if this area is still open. The plume from this location came in a multitude of colors and ranges from mossy types like this one to really well developed plumes. Some friend material. I think this sagenite came from Jamie ( desertdweller) in a trade we did about five years ago. And finally, our buddy Lowell ( elementary) was generous enough to give me a specimen of his prize plume he collected in the south Cady Mountains. I managed a couple of slabs with a good specimen left over. This stuff is even prettier in person as there are green highlights in the red areas that the camera did not pick up. Pattern varied from slab to slab but all is really cool looking stuff.
