nice pile of slabs but I am most impressed with the 3 hour part. looks like 3 days for me. are you using wood glue or gorilla glue to mount some of those to the wood? I had wood glue fail a couple times now I am afraid to try again.

Orrum - 14 inch lortone drop saw with Covington Gold blade. I typically get that many slabs twice a week at lapidary class. Gotta do something while my students play with rocks....
Daniel - Tell me how an I'll do it! Anything to get some color in those pale things!
Chuck - Elmers interior carpenter glue. Allow to dry completely. That white wood glue is junk. We typically cut one flat surface, wash clean, glue on a 2x2 or 2x3, etc and the only time it fails is if I'm a cheapskate with the glue. Use plenty! It soaks off in about a week or so.
Keystone and biker - thanks! Just wish it was better rock! That assortment is some obsidian, some brazilian agates, and some local agates.

That is a great amount of slabs for 3 hours! Good job. I agree with Donnie. I didn't do as well with my cutting this weekend in that amount of time.

Well, I just sat by the saw and cut while the students do their thing, keeping myself available for any questions and help they might need. Gives me a good opportunity to watch for safety violations, obviou need for more training, etc...
But, all things must come to an end.... I got tired of babysitting and quit last October.
deb193redux.... please tell me about sugar acid treating those agates to get some color.... what, how long, etc.
Thanks!
