Recently, I got a package from Krystee and except for the tense green moss in the upper row to the right, she managed to send material that is entirely new to me. If I got that right, it should be Rainforest jasper, Ocean jasper, Green moss in the upper row and Indian sunstone and Listwanite. But the reason for sending me something in the first place is this little wonder of nature. There are lots of Dentrites swimming in near clear chalcedony. The agate is much darker than seen in the pics. Set the ASA setting higher to give the dendrites more prominence. Krystee send me that chunk thinking of carving, but for now I got nothing but sub-herb cabs on mind. saved12 She also cut me a slab off the main-piece, and just look at that marvel of nature. eyes12 eyes12 Thats just one slab front/back and upside down. eyes12 woohoo1 Just one more time a bit closer. Looks to me like some Japanese/Chinese landscape painting. Man, how I wish, I could create a stairway all round that piece and a dragon sitting on top. One can dream,...... but in order to do what I have got on mind, I need to carve things at a third of my regular sizes of right now. hide35 bricks21 Once again; Krystee, thank you so much for a challenge that will likely bug me for a few years.

Yep, she certainly is a fantastic artisan and a very generous one at that.

WOOHOO Kurt!!! I missed your post as I have been training at my new job for the last few days..... LOVING WORKING WITH ROCKS as a REAL job!!! Monday is my first day all by myself at the shop..... I'm a little nervous but super excited!
Any hoo...... You are so VERY WELCOME (((HUGS)))! Your ID's are correct except for the Rainforest. That is actually called Lilly Pad Jasper and it is a jasper/rhyolite. The orbs are super cool because they can get as big as a US quarter size! I haven't cabbed any yet and still have a good brick or so piece of it to slab. That dendritic one had your name all over it the second I saw it! Wish I could give you a name for it but I just don't know??? It's killer though and I know you will find the best way to show case it's beauty!!!
I admire your work so much!!!

I think Lilly Pad is just another name for Rainforest. I had some a couple of years ago, the only difference was that "pads" had often an agate center. Just found that picture, the one on bottom left was sold as Rainforest. Krystee, admiration is mutual. I might have experimented more with carving, yet it seems I will not catch up to your wonderful balanced cabs and your polish any-time soon. To be honest, because of the wonders you achieve with your polish, I'm a little worried about sending you the package late next week. Lets just say, I shall not be offended, if you will give it another makeover with your signature polish.
