Has anyone had problems with their Lortone QT66 berings? I come home from work and found my barrels stopped and the motor still spinning. Last weekend I re-oiled all the berings and started up again. Last night I found it stopped again. Funny thing is, the tumbler will run with just one barrel. I'm lucky that this is hapening in the polish stage and not the 47/60 stage. Getting rocks out of a stopped barrell of grit is a pain. Thanks for any help! - Bill G.

I would check the belt. It may be worn and need to be adjusted or replaced. It can also slip if it gets oily.

I also thought I hay have overloaded the barrels. Looks like its time for this tumbler to go into rehab.

I have had the same issue on my 66 but I have an older unit so i put electrical tape on the axles where the barrels touch them and it helped solve the problem... unfortunately the tape came off after 2 weeks of hot florida weather.. the good news is that enough adhesive stuck to the axle to let the barrels get a good grip... I would make sure you lube the bearings with some sewing machine oil, just a couple drops on axle near bearing, and check the belt tension too just to be safe... replacing the belt is the cheapest option and then the bearings if you have to... I have also cleaned the axles of mine with a good degreaser and a rag and that has helped too....
so my suggestion is this;
1 clean axles 2 replace belt & tension properly 3 replace bearings
let us know how you make out with it!!

Thanks for the ideas. My plan for the weekend was all set. Get that tumbler all fixed up. So what did I do? Went to Paramount, met up with some of our board's members and bought more rock. Guess I'll have next weekend to fix that tumbler. Thanks again, Bill G
